Adam, Eve and Satan

I was watching tv programme on channel 9 called Usrah, hosted by an ustazah I love; Ustazah Fatimah Az-Zahra (if I’m not mistaken). She was reading the seventh surah from Al-Quran; Surah Al-A’raf. In this surah, Allah tell us story about Adam and Eve who live in heaven and they are allowed to eat everything except this on tree. Allah has created Adam and asked everyone to sujud to Adam. But satan refused to do so.

“Dan sungguh, Kami telah Menciptakan kamu. Kemudian Membentuk (tubuh)-mu, kemudian Kami berfirman kepada para malaikat, “bersujudlah kamu kepada Adam,” maka mereka pun sujud kecuali Iblis. Ia iblis tidak termasuk yang bersujud”

[Al-A’araf:11]

Since he thinks that he is superior than Adam since he was created by fire while only made form soil. So Allah says,

“(Allah) berfirman, “maka turunlah kamu dari syurga; kerana kamu tidak sepatutnya menyombongkan diri di dalamnya. Keluarlah! Sesungguhnya kamu termasuk makhluk yang hina”

“Iblis menjawab, “berilah aku penangguhan waktu, sampai hari mereka dibangkitakan.”

“(Allah) Berfirman, “benar kamu termasuk yang diberi penangguhan waktu”

[Al-A’raf:13-15]

So now Satan has been expel from the heaven forever and since he asked from Allah to live forever and influenced human being to do bad this so they would have friends in hell. NAuzubillah.

But I was touched when I heard ustazah said. I never think of this when I read this translation before. The ustazah said, “so what are we waiting for. Asked from Allah and insya-Allah it will be granted. Even the bad satan wish has been granted, what’s more from His own servant; muslimin and muslimat”.

Yup she is absolutely right. So pray to Allah anything you want and Insya Allah it will be granted. But remember the principal, tawakal usaha doa dan tawakal.

The Greatest memory Have

It does take time for us to choose which one is the best memory you have. But I am sure six of my cousins only need a second to pick it up. It happened recently, on the first day of our Aidiladha celebration. All six of them decided to play footsal in the middle of the night at 11.00pm but they have no car to go with. Feeling empathy my mum decided to send them off and promised to fetch them back. But sadly and things didn’t work out. We didn’t woke up and the most sad thing is they decided to walk back home. If you think one hour is a long time to walk back, believe they took much longer time than that. They only arrive at 430 am in the morning after two hours and a half walking non-stop fro the footsal court. What along journey. I wonder what would I do if I am in their shoes? Would I decide to walk back or would I keep on dialing till people are irritated with my call? I don’t know. What I know, they have successfully made it home and I believe they will remember it in their whole life time. Walking for 2.30 hours at night underneath the stars after the tiring 2 hours footsal game, but when you do it together it doesn’t seem tiring maybe. Walking together while sharing the stories with full of hope that we will come to fetch them now doesn’t seem so bad rather than walking alone all night. But from deep in my heart, I would like to apologize. Sorry for not waking up and sorry for not taking all of you home that night and make you have a long night walk. I am truly sorry. But I hope all of you treasure the memory. Boleh cerita sampai anak cucu.

Apa yang nak gelaknya, semuanya esok menyanyikan lagu ‘adooiii’. Smua pekerjaan yang dilakukan dumulakan dengan adoi. Nak turun tangga adoi, nak jalan sikit pun adoi, sampai nak duduk pun xboleh. Kesian sungguh. Walaupun rasa nak gelak but rasa bersalah still menghambat diri. Sorry again.

But there is something that make me bother. All the kilometers they walked, only one person stop to ask and thank you for that. But the respond was so mean. He asked where they are heading to and they answered politely. But he replied, “you should walked since you are still young”. What is that suppose to mean? Why don’t you show a little sympathy and send them home. Don’t you feel worried about them that make you feel like sending them safely home? Hmm I wonder.

Highland Tower and Bukit Antarabangsa

Taksziah saya ucapkan buat mangsa-mangsa dalam kejadian tanah runtuh yang menimpa Bukit Antarabangsa. Semoga mereka dibeiri ketabahan untuk menghadapi ujian Allah ini dan semoga kita mengambil pelajaran daripada kejadian yang menimpa ini.

Namun janganlah kita menuding jari menyalahkan satu sama lain kerana setiap orang ada melakukan kesilapan. Kita mungkin tidak mengambil pengajaran daripada tragedy Highland Towers yang berlaku lebih 13tahun yang lalu. Pihak kerajaan juga mengambil enteng hal pembangunan di lereng bukit dan kita sebagai anggota masyarakat juga lupa bahawa lokasi kediaman yang dianggap mewah dilereng bukit seperti itu mungkin mampu mengancam nyawa.

“Dan kenanglah ketika Allah menjadikan kamu khalifah-khalifah sesudah kaum ‘Aad dan di tempatkannya kamu di muka bumi (dgn diberi kemudahan) untuk kamu mendirikan istana-istana di tanahnya yang rata, dan kamu memahat gunung-ganangya untuk dijadikan rumah. Maka kenanglah nikmat-nikmat Allah itu dan janganlah kamu bermaharajalela melakukan kerosakan di muka bumi”

[Surah Al-A’raf,7:74]

Namun, ambillah ini sebagai pelajaran di masa akan datang. Sesungguhnya apa yang terjadi ini adalah suratan yang MAha Esa.

“Tidak ada sesuatu kesusahan (atau bala bencana) yang ditimpakan di bumi, dan tidak juga yang menimpa diri kamu, melainkan telah sedia ada di dalam Kitab (pengetahuan Kami) sebelum Kami menjadikannya; sesungguhnya mengadakan yang demikian itu adalah mudah bagi Allah”

[Surah Al-Hadid,57:22]

What does modernization mean if?

I was on my way to Malacca from Kuala Terengganu. Viewing all green forest from my window makes me feel good. It was totally different here compared to New Zealand and they differ in a good way. Thank You Allah for the chance you gave to look at another side of the world and discover different type of people. I saw lots of tree being cut here and there along the way through. It is OK to cut and have the tree planted again but it seems like it doesn’t happen that way. It makes me want to cry. The wonderful world Allah gave us with no cacat cela sedikit pun had been manipulated by us human.

The forest that was green once now seems to be like padang jarak padang terkukur. No wonder there would be lots of landslide and hujan kilat occur nowadays, and recently with the Bukit Antarabangsa incident that killed four people.

“Dan Ia mengadakan di bumi gunung ganang yang menetapnya supaya ia tidak terhayun-hayun-kan kamu; dan Ia mengadakan sungai-sungai serta jalan-jalan lalu-lalang, supaya kamu sampai ke matlamat yang kamu tuju.

[Surah An-NAhl,16:15]

But I wonder does it worth it? Looking at the empty houses and shops yang tidak diusahakan ianya makin menghampakan. Adakah pokok-pokok tersebut hanya ditebang untuk usaha pembangunan yang tidak berjaya. Adakah berbaloi menggodolkan kawasan hutan untuk kedai-kedai yang tidak berpenghuni dan hutan-hutan yang dahulunya menjadi tempat takungan air kini mengalirkan air mata darah. Adakah ini kemodenan yang dicari?

The Last Samurai

Samurai or a warrior is a person who lives with dignity. He would rather die rather than live on his shameful life after lose in a battle of war. The emperor just needs to say that he doesn’t want to see his face ever again and the samurai would kill himself voluntary with no doubt at all. Wow! I am impressed with the spirit they have and how loyal they are to their leader and this is fairly close to our late Hang Tuah and the gang spirit. Hang Tuah who famous with his ‘takkan melayu hilang di dunia spirit’ phase was sentenced to death by his Sultan and he is willing to die, but only with bendahara protection he is able to live. But they have the same loyalty don’t they?

I was impressed with how the samurai live their live. They are full of discipline; waking up early in the morning and have their practice continuously but at the same time do not forget their responsibility to their god. This is exactly the same thing teach by our religion, we have to put our fate in God’s hand after we have put all our efforts and at the same time we will gain our strength and our mind will be at peace.

“Dan dengan mengingati Allah hati akan menjadi tenang”

The Samurai era has fall down after being defeated against the new technology by the person who hated this philosophy of life. Samurai fight with their swords and bravely face their enemy with no fear at all lose by modern technology like meriam and guns. I think they have a good and honorable war. They loose after fighting with all they might. And once again, this is similar with Zaman Kesultanan Malaya Melaka. Sultan Mansur Shah era has ended after Portuguese on 1517 came with their full equipment and demolish Malacca great era. Every tamadun have the same fate. There are all gone by the existence of the modern weapon. But I sincerely don’t think the fight we have now is a real fight. The war now does not portrayed the real braveness of the warrior. We don’t have to face to face or enemy to kill them, with one ball shoot and boom all of them will die. What a great invention that covered braveness. But still to win the battle, we have to lean on the great strategy and the great leadership and that will remain the same.

Coffee Prince

Another Korean drama I watched after being recommended by many of my friends and my sister. It is a typical Korean drama where you could guest the story line but they have their own specialty. I cant stop myself smiling looking at each scene, all of the scene are so sweet. Romantic, yeah I could say so. In this story, Eun Chae pretend to be a man for the sake of his family, but unfortunately she fall in love with his own manager. But since he didn’t know that Eun Chae is a woman, he decided to be a pet bro at first and towards the end he can’t bare it anymore and thus he decided to take the risk to be a lover. And the rest of the story, you have to discover it yourself. But I promised you it is a sweet and romantic story. All the characters have successfully brought up their character especially the main actress Eun Chae.

In this drama, I could see the coffee art and I have no idea that there is a specific test to be a barista; a person who is expert in coffee. I was mesmerized to see how Eun Chae decorates the coffee with fern and other interesting shape. There is also specific temperature for the milk and the coffee boil so that it does not demolish the real taste of the coffee and there is also a specific way to pour in the coffee into the cup. You must move your shoulder and not your arm. So no wonder there is a specific test for them and it is not an easy task like we normally imagine.
