Sydney ~ Day 1~

he last stop of our vacation, Sydney which is widely known by their Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. I wonder why they are so famous actually. Is it because of the shape? or the great history it has behind their existence. Harbour bridge and Opera House situated in the middle of the city.

"Sydney Harbour Bridge, bridge spanning the harbour in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and one of the city’s principal landmarks. Construction of the bridge began in 1923 and took nine years. The bridge spans one of the narrowest inlets of the harbour, and is one of the largest single-arch bridges in the world. Its total length is 1,150 m (3,772 ft), with an arch 503 m (1,650 ft) long, and it supports eight lanes of traffic, two railway lines, a bicycle track, and a pedestrian footpath."

Ogh, that is why it is so famous. While Opera House, I myself first cant figure out what shape it take, but when I look it carefully, I fell like a dumb who cant realize the obvious shape of sails. It was designed by the Danish architect Jørn Utzon, who won an international competition for it in 1956. In his original design, the distinctive sail-shaped towers, intended to reflect the spirit of the harbour, were pronounced unbuildable by the engineers and were redesigned at a much lower angle. Utzon resigned as a consequence and the building was completed by the engineers in 1973. And it is regarded as the finest modern building in Australia. <Microsoft ® Encarta ® 2006. © 1993-2005 Microsoft Corporation. But the happy moment doesnt last forever. After taking photos here and there, our stomach begin to growling and urge us to immediately find a restaurant. But after few hours walk we couldnt find any restaurant. And the saddest part is we dont even know how are we going back to the Malaysian Hall. What bus to take, which road to go.Ya Allah at that moment only Allah we place our hope. People coming back from Sydney always remind us, "Dont walk late at night in the city, it is DANGEROUS!" it became even more scarrier when we remember about it. I dont know how many kilometres we walk untill we found a bus, the uncle dont exactly know which bus we should take actually, but he somehow will take us to the central bus station, that is good enough we think. So we hop on the bus. Alhamdulillah=D Then at the bus, we found another helpful man, an Indonesian he said, there is bus 379 will take you there, randwick. And after hour of finding restaurant, I end up eating a packet of maggie=D But it is good enough than couldnt find a way home. Thank You Allah for 'menggerakkan hati mereka untuk membantu kami, kerna sesungguhnya hati itu adalah milik Mu", alhamdulillah
