Gemilang is a great drama directed by a famous person who established great works. It was seen through the high rating given by the viewers across nation wide in 'Nur Kasih' and 'Cinta'. His work is a great piece of art. And now he come back with a new drama which I strongly believe would be another hit; 'GEMILANG'.Today the 3rd episode was aired on 9pm slot on Monday. Now the viewers shall have the remote control in the hand as tv9 also offer a great drama 'Dia Bukan Maryam' played by famous star like Fahrin Ahmad, Lisdawati and Eja which almost the same time slot but started 30 minutes earlier. But both of the drama take a different theme where Dia Bukan maryam offer a typical love and friendship theme while on the other hand Gemilang bring on the 'perjuangan anak muda meninkatkan martabat pendidikan di kalangan masyarakat berlatar belakangkan zaman 1970-an.
WOW! That should be interesting I guess. Normally this type of story can only be read through books or heard from our grandparent and if we are lucky from our own parent experience. I just can't wait to see how Khabit Bhatia potrayed the scenario. Especially after his success in Nur Kasih which become a hit or may I say a phenomena.
After 3 episodes I am not disappointed at all. Especially after today. I was touched by his spirit to educate the youngsters and inspire them to further their study. He chose to work in the village regardless high salary in Kuala Lumpur. He want to serve the nation, the people directly so he chose to open a private institute. However to change the mentality is triple time harder than opening a school. And this is his biggest challenge.
He is a great man!! And I want to be a marvelous person just like he did. I strongly believe to be great person we need a strong reason, or in other words an inspiration.
For example, Lah; the lead actor in Gemilang played by Shahz jazle had a pitiful childhood experience. After his mom died, he had to take the responsibility as a mother to the other 4 younger brother and sister. It was a hard moment for him as a 11 years old boy. Even though he love study, he decide to quit to cook, wash dishes, work at the rubber plantation and help his father to collect the coconut and the most important job is to look after his siblings. All of that now become his daily routine. But he never complained. He tried his best to be a great mom just like his mom did.
But all of this means nothing anymore when his father make a decision that change their whole life. After some time, his father adopted all his children after thinking of their own future. Except Lah, the eldest son who decide to stay by his side and took care of him. It was a difficult moment for him. The house which used to be crowded now become spacious enough for him and his father. Not long after that, his father left him. He is now alone. Nowhere else to go, his dearest teacher adopted him and with his help he continue study and pass with flying colors in MCE. later he proceed to UM and graduated.
What's next? That is a big question. How he want to serve the nation? How to change people mentality that 'otak mereka setakat tulah'. How he want to inspire them to learn? And on top of that he dont want others to have the same fate like he did. And his other mission is to look after his precious brothers. Agh I just cant wait to know the rest of the story. Hopefully this would be another drama I love after Nur Kasih.

We need passion in our works to put our heart and soul in it.. Only then the outcome would reach out to the targer group.. they would feel the passion there as if an electric current.
ReplyDeleteThe story is there but the plot, acting, characters, scenes are a far cry compared to Nur Kasih. Somehow the characters doesn't hit home; not strong nor memorable enough to reside in your memories and dreams..
Compare them to characters like Lebai Hassan(Datok Jalaluddin), Adam(Remy), Aidil (Fiz Fairuz), Nur Amina (Tiz) and even Sara (Ummi Nazeera)... Jauh sangat dari segi personality strength...
