Why people are looking forward for this special day I questioned myself.
Hmm maybe being a student is sooo haaarrdd that they put their best effort in attending classes, assignments, test, exam, lab reports, tutorial, etc etc etc.
OO maybe that is why graduation day is the perfect time to reward themselves and enjoy the greatest moment of their student life.
Emm maybe maybe, that is why each and every student looking forward for this day.

Everyone who struggle and strive for the best will be eager to trat themselves after they finish on their stuff. Isnt it similar to our life as a Muslim? As a student, we will avoid anything that could reduce our marks or lead us to fail in exam, which is the worst case scenario. And try to put it in a longer time frame. If are afraid to be throw in the Hell we will also try our best run away from everything that could lead us there. Waiyazubillah. Besides If we struggle fighting our 'nafsu', do everything that Allah ask us to, and give some portion of our belongings to others just to seek Allah's Blessed, then we should feel the same as well. We will look after to see HIM and prepare our best before receiving the 'Graduation Certificate'.

14. Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell);
15. None shall enter it save the most wretched,
16. Who denies and turns away.
17. And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V.2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell).
18. He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification,
19. And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,
20. Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High;
21. He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise).
[Al-Lail, 92:14-21]

  1. Graduation = recognition.
    That is the important thing. You are recognized as bachelor of say Mathematics. The world recognise this through a network of academic standard. Now you have a place in the world, you can practise you trade (after professional qualification) and it will be recognised. That is the essence of it. Without this all those years struggling at the PPT is for nothing, just pure knowledge that is not recognised.
